Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Row Z Weather is a product of SideDoor Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Data protection contact: privacy@rowzweather.com.

2. What We Collect

You provide

• Selected team (stored on device, sent anonymously to our servers).
• Voice preferences (on-device only).
• Subscription status (managed via RevenueCat on our behalf).
• Email address (only if you join the launch waitlist).

We collect automatically

• Anonymous device identifier (for rate limiting and fraud prevention).
• Approximate location (city-level only, for weather lookup).
• Selected stadium location on matchday (from public fixture data).
• App usage events (feature opens, banter generations) for analytics.

We do NOT collect

• Your name, phone number, or address.
• Precise GPS coordinates.
• Contact lists, photos, messages, audio, or video.
• Browsing or search history.
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID). We do not serve ads.

3. How We Use It

• To deliver weather, fixtures, and banter.
• To generate voice audio via text-to-speech (performed on-device using your operating system; audio is not sent to us or third parties).
• To prevent abuse (rate limiting, fraud detection).
• To improve the product (aggregated analytics only).

4. Third Parties

• Apple / Google: subscription billing and delivery.
• RevenueCat: subscription management. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
• Cloudflare: edge infrastructure, hosting, and rate limiting.
• Anthropic: banter generation (anonymised: no user identifiers are sent).
• API-Football: fixture and live match data (no user data sent).
• OpenWeather / Apple WeatherKit: weather data (city-level location only).
• PostHog: anonymous product analytics.

Public football commentary (news sites, Reddit subreddits, RSS feeds) is analysed at an aggregate level to extract fan sentiment patterns. We do not store or republish individual posts.

5. Your Rights (UK / EEA)

• Access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing.
• Port your data.
• Complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Email privacy@rowzweather.com to exercise any right. We respond within 30 days.

6. Retention

• Analytics events: 90 days in aggregate form.
• Anonymous device identifier: until app uninstall or account deletion.
• Support correspondence: 24 months.
• Waitlist email: until launch email is sent, then deleted within 30 days unless you opt in to further communication.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. International Transfers

Some processing occurs in the EU and US. Standard Contractual Clauses are in place for all transfers.

9. Changes

We will notify material changes via the App and give 14 days' notice.
